Format & Scoring

  1. 1.1The tournament is played over 18 holes. Each player hits a tee shot; the team selects the best shot and all players play their next shot from within one club length of that spot, no closer to the hole.

  2. 1.2The ball must remain in the same condition (fairway, rough, bunker, hazard) as the selected shot.

  3. 1.3Each team must use at least three tee shots from every player over the course of the round.

  4. 1.4Two putts maximum per hole once on the green — pick up after your second putt and record the score. This keeps the field moving for everyone behind you.

  5. 1.5Record one gross team score per hole. The committee applies the team handicap to determine net standings. Ties are broken by a scorecard playoff starting at the #1 handicap hole.

02

Handicaps & Eligibility

  1. 2.1All amateur golfers 18 and older are welcome. Established GHIN handicaps are preferred; players without a handicap will be assigned one by the committee based on stated ability.

  2. 2.2Team handicap is 25% of the sum of the four individual course handicaps, rounded to the nearest tenth, capped at 18.0.

  3. 2.3Handicap information must be submitted at registration. Adjustments after May 1 require committee approval.

  4. 2.4Teams with two or more players carrying single-digit handicaps play from the championship tees.

03

Mulligans & Contests

  1. 3.1Up to two mulligans per player may be purchased at check-in for $10 each. Mulligans may not be used on contest holes (4, 7, 14, 16) or to win the hole-in-one prize.

  2. 3.2Longest Drive (Hole 14) and Closest to the Pin (Hole 7) are measured on designated markers. The ball must come to rest on the fairway or green to qualify.

  3. 3.3A hole-in-one on Hole 16 wins the grand prize vehicle, subject to the sponsor's verification rules, including the required witnesses.

  4. 3.4The putting contest is held before the round on the practice green. One putt per entrant from 40 feet; closest to the hole wins the pot.

04

Pace of Play & Course Policy

  1. 4.1Target pace is 15 minutes per hole. Groups falling a full hole behind will be asked to pick up and move into position.

  2. 4.2Carts must remain on paths on all par 3s and within 30 feet of every green. Bighorn is cart-path-only if it has rained within 24 hours of the round.

  3. 4.3Please repair ball marks, rake bunkers, and replace divots. Keep the course as beautiful as you found it.

  4. 4.4Soft spikes only. Denim, tank tops, and metal spikes are not permitted on the course.

05

Weather & Rulings

  1. 5.1The tournament plays rain or shine. Play is suspended only for lightning or course closure, at the discretion of the head professional.

  2. 5.2If fewer than 9 holes are completed, all entry fees convert to charitable donations and the raffle and auction proceed as scheduled.

  3. 5.3The tournament committee — Dana Whitfield (Director), Mike Torres (Head Professional), and the Harborview Foundation liaison — settles all rules questions. Committee decisions are final.

  4. 5.4USGA rules govern all situations not covered here.
